NBA Notage

Just a few notes for my own personal archive, nothing significant, except for NBA and sports fans to ponder... Low effort and not very clutch at the end of games: Pippen says this of LeBron. Magic, Bird, Jordan: all were very hungry for ball and very regularly clutch in last 2 minutes. NBA: there is a difference between the Most Valuable Player, the Most Talented Player, and the Most Statistical Player. Most influential players to the NBA in recent decades: * Magic-Bird made it popular. * Jordan made it global. * Kobe extended Jordan, made it a one-on-one game. * Lebron made it mogul. * Curry changed the shot. Best of all time, based on impact, clutch, personal team turn-around or impact: Bird, Magic, Jordan, Kobe, Wilt, Kareem, Russell, Lebron, Curry. Biggest impact to turn around a franchise immediately: Bird, Magic, Jordan, Lebron. Bird instant success as a coach as well. Most Sensitve Player Awards * Kyrie * Football counterparts: OBJ, TO, Baker. Rodgers on deck.

Footballage on NFL Level

Stats vs. Eye Test • Stats are most certainly not everything. So many dependent factors, especially with such an intricate and in-depth team sport. • General factors: quality of offense and defense, team chemistry, play-calling, it-factor players, experience and confidence in clutch and playoffs. • Game factors: game-planning of team and opponent, situational football (score, turnovers, etc.). QBs that seem over-inflated or under-performing • Stafford • Dak OL issues 2018 • Lions • Bills • Jets • Raiders • Browns • Cowboys pass • Cardinals Coaches of top tier IC Reich, KC Reid, NE Bill, CH Nagy, CP Norv, NO Payton Best QBs no SB Fouts, Rivers, Romo, Everett, Palmer, Kosar, Sipe … QB Play • OC playcalling key, and coaching the QB to play within self and system. • General, as well as situational (down, distance, yardline, score, time). • Ideal: WR deep threat, 1 good route runners slot man, up-and-coming WR, solid TE, RB gam...

NFL 2018 Dallas Cowboys

For several of us, it has been a bit of a predictable year for Dallas.  Their 3-5 start was underwhelming, and their 5-game winning streak has been very unexpected. But throughout the season, they have been putting the right pieces together around Dak and have been playing complete games, all seemingly to the tune of Dak also playing a bit near the maximum of his own current potential. Especially with the tough road wins, they are at this moment a legitimate entry level playoff team, who could even win one given the right conditions. They have a complete defense, decent kicking game, a running game, and receivers to surround a limited QB. These are the makings of a tough team. The problem is that conditions have to be just right for substantial wins. And especially in today's NFL, with the level of quarterback play these days and the rules of the league, that's less likely. Just still not sold on Dak until he is consistently able to read and hit the second level route...
