This is a collection of individual thoughts and ideas worth pondering and using for reflection...

When someone near us is going through a crisis, it is Vital to listen Far more than we speak, and to really hear their heart and their hurt. And then, before responding, stop and realize we still haven't walked in their shoes, so we cannot criticize their previous actions nor dictate their next ones.

We must remember that even in trying to see the whole picture, we're going to often miss part of it, for various reasons, even innocently. So we have to trust the person with the grace and guidance of the Holy Spirit, wherever they are in their heart and life. And our main role is to give unconditional love all along, just as Jesus would in-person.

It's very unusual that a person who is trying to help someone in crisis really understands, really gets it deep within, without having experienced something similar. So we Must be patient, and simply loving and compassionate. If we cannot do that, we should stay away from the brokenhearted, because we’ll just be offering platitudes from angles based on an incomplete understanding of their situation.

The world sells the lie to reply on your image for your identity and getting what you want. But true beauty and worth is internal, and the more we value that, the more we seek and love and want what we really need.

No matter how much a woman has consented to being exploited and has forgotten her worth and dignity, it is still a virtuous and most right thing to protect her worth and treat her with dignity.

A deaf and blind person is not the best person to trust the assessment of what he sees and hears.

For those who have suffered trauma or severe heartache, if we allow intimacy with God in those places, they will remain sanctuaries where God will always reside, sitting there with open arms to embrace you anytime life brings you back there.

Chasing empty cars leaves you the same every time: Standing there wore out, staring at the tailgate fading away in the distance.

There are places carved out by the hand of God, waiting for you to walk into and be still enough to hear Him, to find Him.

Until you really know someone, people aren't usually what they seem...including and perhaps especially on here and other online forums. So it requires patience as well as taking things, whether seemingly good or challenging, with a grain of salt...and focusing on real world living.

The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, who endlessly live to seek His face.

America will cease to be great when America ceases to be good. Alexis de Tocqueville

I'd rather be clean and weak than dirty and strong, any day.

I want to feel the voice of the Lord move across the cords of my heart.

Pride is concerned with who is right. Humility is concerned with what is right.

Home is a place where you don't wear out your welcome and in fact is the place you can go when you've worn it out elsewhere...a place you are wanted even in your imperfection. It's the place that opens its arms and takes us in to stay, and allows us to reciprocate the embrace.

There comes a point where we worship and seek God just for Him, not His benefits. I would rather be clean and weak than dirty and strong.

Don't go through heart failure without getting on the altar, the operating table of the Master Physician. Hosea 7:14

There is a place in God where the anointing teaches quicker than you can learn, shows quicker than you can see, takes you quicker than you can walk. In fact, the movement is often across entire dimensions.

The erosion of pride is the beginning of sight.

Men, we decide what we truly are. It's simple.

There are very few who stay with you after they see you at your worst, your weakest, your most vulnerable moments. Don't be surprised if most don't, and be thankful to God for the ones that do.

Take note of the ones that stay in touch with you the day after your worst day. They are the real ones in your life.

Some things are worth whatever it takes. Know what you have and how to care for it.

Some things in our lives can only be carried by the One who carried it all.

The mission of a missionary is to serve those in need. A true missionary does not wait to be sent somewhere beyond their reach. They start now by paying attention to those within their reach.

There are those who are not unemployed, who love their mothers, who open doors for people, and who would rather die than to cheat on their companion. Unfortunately, when someone meets them, they consider them them boring...until they've been through enough stupid men to realize what they really want in life.

Truth is like surgery. It hurts but it heals. A lie is like a painkiller. It gives temporary relief but has lasting side effects.

True freedom and growth often come from the little and big places of surrender that life and situations bring us the opportunity of. It's not automatic. It does take some steps on our part. But it's more than worth it.

We don't experience the healing ointment of the olive oil until the olives are first crushed. And for those who seem to experience unusual crushing, it may be in part that you are called to be a healer, and not just to receive healing yourself.

We are too willing to respirate things that want to die and want to take us down with them. It takes so much initiative and self-dignity to separate from those negative things, and it can only be done if we are truly willing to be well and to be free.

The aftermath of serving idols (so to speak) in our lives is generally accompanied by a withdrawal period. There is a retraining of the soul and its attachments that must take place, more likened to the turning of the flight of a plane than the path of a bicycle.

While the hand of God should be asked for, the heart of God must be longed for.

Lose yourself in intimacy with Him, and find yourself in servitude of others.

Meekness and servanthood are the qualities of a strong, unbreakable backbone of a man...not controlling, domineering selfishness and pride.

Being on fire might be likened to wood burning. It can burn out if there isn't enough wood. However, there is a place in God where the atmosphere itself is liquid fire. The entrance is a low and a narrow gate, but the space within is an endless expanse of ballroom dance with the Creator and Savior of the Universe.

No matter how busy and big you get, always make sure you know how to keep life slow and small.

Brokenness does not detract from beauty, but rather accentuates it.

The very things that hurt us the most do not define us. They may be instruments in the hands of God to help shape us, but it is He and His grace that defines us.

It takes the formation of a new habit to break an old one.

It can be very difficult to not see things through the lens of our hurt, no matter how unrealistic or untrue it is. But we have to try. Even if we feel very alone.

If our heart is broken, it means we have more doors from which to pour out love and grace, and windows for light to shine in. Healing will come, though it really hurts, as we continue to put our heart in the Master Physician's hands.

A real man is not someone who has control over others. A real man is someone who has control over himself.
