 To whom it may concern:

You have to be embarrassed by now, seeing the reality of what was printed and what it makes the Post look like. You have to have more professionalism in your work. Creativity is an art that is to be used with skill. The great ones don’t ever sink into filthiness just to get people’s attention. Remember, you are a leading paper in this country. That means of all the professional journalism, you are supposed to be one of the best (if not the best).

Please, take time to really consider this personally, because I’m coming alongside you to share this, not to bash and attack you. I’m sure you’ve gotten enough of that. We look to papers like yours in print, online, and in mobile apps, to see what you are experiencing and how you’re responding to what we are experiencing as a country. Maintain integrity and respect for all, from Christian to atheist, from executive to prostitute.

And in this instance, remember, in America (and around the world), we are still in a state of discovery of finding out just how many prostitutes are actually victims of human trafficking. That would be front-cover worthy material…sympathy towards our children and women. How do those trafficked women feel about seeing that cover?

Tougher Love

Many of us have heard of 'tough love', 'speaking the truth in love', and the like. Perhaps often misunderstood or not mirroring its biblical roots. It was never meant to be a license to put jagged edges on the truth as we speak it. The context of love where truth is expressed infers the laborious building of charity and grace in healthy relationship, one with mercy and boundaries in tandem balance, resulting in what would even be a stable home wherein the relationship abides. And then, from this very place, loving truth may be clearly spoken with gentle tone, such that the strength of expression and the arm of action doing the work is the truth itself, not the intensity of the person expressing it. Finally. There is a new dawn coming. A dawn that could have been seen earlier than now, and perhaps faintly was, but was not ready to be beheld because it was not ready to be embraced. Coming up for air tends and getting to a point of buoyancy tends to be a priority before being able to focus on the horizon. But there is a turning point, an inflection, where the climb, the rise to surface begins to lift beneath us as we reach. It is at that point where we have the courage, the wherewithal to look beyond the underside of sea level. In the middle of the night, there is a place where everything is turning into the sun.
