Today

It is said that there is no tomorrow, only today. And it's true, both literally and in a figurative, inspirational sense. But it's also true that the efforts that we make for the sake of tomorrow, a so-called phantom day, is what makes our today worthwhile and our hope for a new today stay alive.

So to truly live for today is to also live for tomorrow.

Another word. Another conference. Another season. Another claimed endeavor or work or promise from the hand of the Lord. I remember the days...there was a time in the early 90's when it became very popular to want to be a prophet and/or have prophetic words given and received. Tougher Love

Many of us have heard of 'tough love', 'speaking the truth in love', and the like. Perhaps often misunderstood or not mirroring its biblical roots. It was never meant to be a license to put jagged edges on the truth as we speak it. The context of love where truth is expressed infers the laborious building of charity and grace in healthy relationship, one with mercy and boundaries in tandem balance, resulting in what would even be a stable home wherein the relationship abides. And then, from this very place, loving truth may be clearly spoken with gentle tone, such that the strength of expression and the arm of action doing the work is the truth itself, not the intensity of the person expressing it. Arise and Shine

Finally. There is a new dawn coming. A dawn that could have been seen earlier than now, and perhaps faintly was, but was not ready to be beheld because it was not ready to be embraced. Coming up for air tends and getting to a point of buoyancy tends to be a priority before being able to focus on the horizon. But there is a turning point, an inflection, where the climb, the rise to surface begins to lift beneath us as we reach. It is at that point where we have the courage, the wherewithal to look beyond the underside of sea level. In the middle of the night, there is a place where everything is turning into the sun. Long before a lighting of the sky, the sun is coming up. And where we are is turning into it. A dawning can be declared confidently. Not without price or pain, but yet confidently.
